Maybe it is just my sense of failed perception but it seems to me that many living historians fail to recognize the importance of our region pertaining to the struggle for our nation’s independence. This multi-part essay will hopefully shed some light on the happenings that took place in present day West Virginia that drastically helped plant the seeds for revolution and the events that took place in the region that trained and prepared the men that would later be the officer’s and leaders needed to fight for our independence.
